Short answer: a children's birthday party in Catalonia costs a median of about €220 for 15 children, but the range runs from €25 to €675. What lowers the price most is not the province but the type of venue: play centres and kids' clubs (ludotecas) have a median of €100. And what confuses people most is what the price includes. Here is a breakdown based on 242 venues with a public price (out of 372 in the catalogue), as of 23.10.2026.
These are indicative prices: the estimated total of a party for 15 children according to the rates published on the venues' own websites. They depend on the package and the number of children, so always confirm with the venue.
Barcelona versus the other provinces
You might expect Barcelona to be the most expensive, but the province actually has the lowest median of the four. Median total for 15 children:
| Province | Venues with a price | Median | Typical range (P25–P75) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona | 169 | €203 | €100–270 |
| Girona | 31 | €225 | €180–285 |
| Tarragona | 27 | €240 | €150–300 |
| Lleida | 15 | €250 | €195–300 |
The gap between the cheapest and the dearest province is about €50, much smaller than the gap between one type of venue and another. Be careful how you read it: the province of Barcelona has many inexpensive play centres, which pull the median down. If you look only at the city of Barcelona, the median rises to €250 (52 venues), while in towns around it such as Terrassa (€100, 12 venues) or L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (€100, 5 venues) it drops sharply. In towns with only a few priced venues, such as Sant Boi de Llobregat (3), the figures are not very reliable.
In Girona the range has fewer extremes: the lowest price is €119 and the highest €360. If you live there, browse the province of Girona without assuming it will cost more.
Which types of venue are most affordable
Median by category (only those with enough venues to be indicative):
| Type of venue | Venues | Median |
|---|---|---|
| Play centres and kids' clubs | 61 | €100 |
| Bowling | 6 | €203 |
| Indoor play areas | 22 | €225 |
| Farms with animals | 10 | €225 |
| Trampoline parks | 14 | €240 |
| Escape rooms | 23 | €255 |
| Horse riding | 15 | €270 |
| Karting | 13 | €270 |
Play centres and kids' clubs are by far the cheapest: half of them cost €100 or less. At the other end are theme parks (median €420, but only 4 venues) and karting, which tops out at €525. By setting, indoor venues have a median of €184, outdoor ones €255 and mixed ones €270. If you want to save money, our selection of cheap birthday venues is a good place to start.
Price per child: the figure you can actually compare
Across the 231 venues that publish it, the median is €18 per child; most fall between €15 and €22, and the extremes run from €7 to €57. It is the most useful figure if you are not sure how many guests there will be. Many venues also require a minimum number of children: the median is 8, and a quarter of venues ask for 10 or more. A typical party lasts two hours (median 120 minutes; 90 to 150 for most).
What the price usually includes
Share of venues whose package includes each item:
| Item | % of venues |
|---|---|
| Private room | 59% |
| Snack | 45% |
| Entertainer | 28% |
| Drinks | 26% |
| Equipment | 25% |
| Cake | 17% |
| Gift for the birthday child | 14% |
| Decoration | 8% |
| Party bags | 7% |
| Invitations | 6% |
| Photos | 5% |
| Insurance | 3% |
| Face painting | 2% |
So the usual deal is a private room and, in fewer than half of cases, a snack. What almost never comes included: cake, decoration, invitations, photos and party bags. If a venue lists something as an extra, add it up. If it says nothing, ask. Keep in mind that something missing from a website does not always mean it is not offered, only that it is not published.
The cheapest and the priciest in the catalogue
This is data from our catalogue, not a recommendation. Cheapest (total for 15 children): Fes-te la Festa Vilafranca (€25, Vilafranca del Penedès), Artós Sports Club (€36, Barcelona), and at €50 Amazonas (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat), Festiland Barberà (Barberà del Vallès) and RUPI Creaciones (Viladecans). Priciest: Park Aventura Lleida and Virtual Game Lleida (€675 each), Karting Club Vendrell (€525), Nenelandia (€495, Barcelona) and L'Aquàrium de Barcelona (€450).
Note that a very low price often means a space rental where you bring the food and entertainment, or a basic package with few services. A high price usually includes an expensive activity (karting, virtual reality, an adventure park). They cannot be compared without looking at what is inside.
How to compare two quotes properly
- Use the same number of children for both. Some prices are per child, others per group.
- Ask what is included: private room, snack, drinks, cake, entertainer, duration.
- Work out the real cost: the venue price plus what you will have to buy yourself (cake, bags, decoration).
- Check the minimum number of children and the surcharge per extra child.
- Check VAT and the date: weekends and public holidays can cost more.
If you need more space, look at venues for large groups; if you want everything sorted, options with a snack and with an entertainer; and if you prefer privacy, private-room venues.
